My owners suggested I start this blog because I lead such an interesting life. They think lots of people would like to know about me and my adventures. Let me start by telling you a little about myself.
Name: Shadow
Age: I'm 9 years old now. I guess that makes me about the same as a 63 year-old man.
Family Status: I have a family who love me unconditionally. They tell me I bring them happiness.
Best Quality: I'm a great listener.
Worst Quality: I don't like inclement weather and will take myself for an unaccompanied walk. My family don't really like it when I do this, but I know it's because they worry about me out on my own.
So now you know a little bit about who I am, let me tell you a little of my history. I was born in Roleystone at the Dancing Gate Kennels. I don't really remember much of my time there because I left when I was only 8 weeks old. My first real memory is of being in a box somewhere dark and cold. I was really scared and it was really bumpy. The next strong memory is of meeting my human Mum. She smelt nice and she let me lick her hands and her throat. She giggled a lot when I licked her throat and she cuddled me like I was her real baby. Then I met my human Dad. He was cool. He cuddled me and played with me and rolled me around. It was so much fun. I got to meet my big brothers too. Nik is my eldest brother and he was only two when I joined the family and my other brother, Mili was only 6 months old. Mili and I kind of grew up together, though I'm a lot older than him now.
My family didn't live in Perth then. They lived in Karratha. Life in Karratha was great. We played a lot and went to the beach a lot. I especially loved looking for washed up fish when we went to the beach. I really like the smell of them when they're rotting and they make the best deodorant (but Mum doesn't think so - she always screams at me and makes me have a bath when I've rolled in one!). When I was nearly 2, my family moved back to Perth.
We live in the hills near Perth and life is fantastic. Dad takes me on walks and runs every morning. If Dad's away, Nik or Mili take me on a quick walk. Mum plays with me, cooks my meals, buys me toys and cuddles me all the time.
Everyone in my family trusts me and they tell me all their secrets because they know I won't tell anyone. I love them and they love me. They tell me all the time that I make them happy. I know that they make me happy. I have lots of adventures and I hope you'll enjoy reading about some of them.
